What up y’all! I just wanted to give an update for the scene in Solwezi. The following is a post from their IG account which you can find below.
We’ve been supporting this effort since day one and will continue to do the same. At the moment, they could use protective gear and kicks.
So I ask two of the pad industry powerhouses to help out. I’ve tried this with shoe companies with no success, so I won’t give them any backlinks, but Protec and Triple 8 NYC maybe can hook them up.
Now for the post by Skateboarding Solwezi:
Skateboarding in Solwezi at the Kapiji Mall
There have been a lot of things going on in the Skateboarding Solwezi community. So we went on to talk to the mall management at Kapiji Mall to allow us all to be skating at the mall.
And they said yes!

But only twice a week and for four hours only.
This is great news for us!
So we have made groups of 20-30 people in each group to skate for an hour each.
Besides that, some parents are now stopping kids from skating since they think it’s too dangerous and that we don’t have any safety gear.
Skateboarding Solwezi is one of the voices that are unheard but Skateboarding Saves tries to make our voices heard through their blog posts, you can check out some awesome stories in their blog posts.
Please share our cause with someone who cares.
We could really use some skate shoes, helmets, knee pads etc. for our kids in the community.
Regardless of the situation we still smile and share happiness. Whatever challenge is here is only here to teach us life lessons like working together.
If you would like to get involved in helping the skate community in Solwezi, please head over to the link in our bio and grab a t-shirt or share the link.
Thank you for your support!
